0 0 0 A burglary suspect in Vancouver was apprehended Sunday morning, thanks to Saver the K9.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, at 1:14 a.m. they were called to Glenwood Grocery, located at 11811 NE 72nd Ave because of a triggered silent alarm.
The first deputy to arrive said he interrupted a white male attempting to pry open the back door of the businesses. He said that once he approached the suspect the man fled.
Another deputy and his K9 partner Saver arrived in the area and were able to force the suspect to turn north on NE 70th Ave. The deputy said he was able to track the suspect to a wooded location where he attempted to hide.
According to police, Saver came in contact with the suspect and helped police take him into custody.
The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Zachery Michaelis and he was flagged as a violent offender. He also had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest for failing to register as a sex offender.
Michaelis was treated at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital for a minor dog bite. He was then transported to Clark County Jail.
