A car crashed into a Battle Ground school bus Wednesday morning, sending three students to the hospital.

The bus stopped at a railroad crossing on 119th Street east of 99th Avenue near Brush Prairie. A Subaru behind it didn’t stop and rear-ended the bus, wedging underneath it, said Sgt. Chris Skidmore of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Three students were taken to the hospital as a precaution, but their injuries were not specified, said Amanda Richter, a spokeswoman for Battle Ground Public Schools.

An ambulance responded for the Subaru driver, whose injuries weren’t critical. Skidmore said the driver’s airbags deployed.

The Washington State Patrol also responded to the call and sent a commercial vehicle inspector to examine the bus.
